The world is becoming more competitive every day. Jobs are shrinking, and AI is replacing us. To stay ahead, you need to learn high-income skills. Today, I’ll cover six skills that can earn you more money, give you more freedom, and make you irreplaceable by AI. Let's dive in!

High-Income Skill 1: AI 🤖

It's pretty obvious: to not be replaced by AI, you should learn AI. But what does that actually mean? AI is vast. There's so much it can do, yet most people don't know all its capabilities. Besides the common ChatGPT and AI ARC, many other AI tools are just as useful and mind-blowing.

The first step to learning AI is to be aware of what it’s capable of right now. Explore all the AI tools currently available and their use cases. Read articles and watch videos. This will put you one step ahead of everyone else because you’ll recognize what AI is actually replacing and what it isn’t, and most importantly, spot opportunities to use AI to your benefit and make money.

The second step is learning the AI tools themselves. This will allow you to put AI into action and give you an edge over others. However, don’t invest too much time mastering any AI tool right now because it’s kinda pointless. AI tools are advancing so fast that most of the AI tools we know now will soon be outdated.

For example, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has said that kids should not learn to code because AI will do it for us in the future. It seems crazy, but at this point, anything is possible. For now, learn only what you need to learn when you need to learn it. As AI technology matures, that’s when I’d consider truly mastering AI tools.

If there’s one AI tool worth diving deep into, it’s ChatGPT. It's the most popular one for a reason. If you want to unlock its full potential, check out the ChatPlayground AI resources. It includes a flowchart, a step-by-step guide, a prompt template, a checklist, and an ebook with creative ways to use ChatGPT and 100 prompts to try.

High-Income Skill 2: Marketing 📈

Marketing is one of the most valuable and high-income skills you can have today. We live in an attention economy where everyone and everything is fighting to grab your attention, especially businesses. It’s not enough to just have a good product or service anymore; businesses need to stand out to win.

Marketing is the skill of promoting a product or service, and it’s in heavy demand. Every year, businesses invest more in marketing, such as content marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing, and more. Having marketing skills can open you to working in these growing fields.

As AI grows bigger, marketing skills will also become more valuable because it’s a human-oriented skill. Marketing deals with humans, and humans are unpredictable. Our imperfections will keep marketing skills in demand and irreplaceable by AI as products and services will always need new human ways to attract our ADHD brains.

Even outside of marketing jobs, the skill is extremely useful to have. These days, it’s more important than ever to have a personal brand. If you want to be known in your industry, be considered by employers, or grow a social media following, you need to market yourself well.

Where marketing skills really pay off is through entrepreneurship. A lot of entrepreneurship is basically just marketing. Running a business involves building a brand, analyzing data, identifying niches, designing products, and attracting customers. When you pair marketing skills with entrepreneurship, you’re not only promoting a business; you’re promoting your business. And you get to reap all the rewards and profits that come with it.

High-Income Skill 3: Sales 💼

Sales can seem the same as marketing, but there’s a slight difference. Simply put, marketing is building awareness, while sales is closing the deal. It’s the process of finding leads, pitching and negotiating, handling objections, and ultimately securing the bag.

Many sales jobs offer high salaries in the six figures, specifically those in tech, financial services, industrial, medical, and pharmaceutical industries. A lot of these jobs are also tied to commission. The more you sell, the more you make. So there’s a lot of money in sales if you’re good.

Sales is one of the most transferable skills because we’re all selling things all the time. Every day, we sell our ideas and opinions. We sell our worth for a job, for a raise, or for a cute girl’s number. For entrepreneurs, sales skills are needed not only to sell a company’s value to customers but also to employees and investors.

At its core, sales is about building trust with people and addressing their needs. It’s not just a business skill; it’s a life skill. Because of how human-oriented it is, it’s going to be tough for AI to replace. If you want to learn sales, put yourself in situations where you sell something directly to someone else. This could be through a simple retail job, professional sales job, or even volunteering.

High-Income Skill 4: Communication 🗣️

Communication is, in my opinion, the most transferable skill. Almost everything involves some form of communication. With the world living more and more behind screens, fewer people are developing strong communication skills. Those who do learn how to communicate well will stand out.

There are two types of communication: writing and speaking. Writing is an essential skill to have and can lead to work in copywriting and freelance writing. However, AI tools like ChatGPT are making writing real easy for everyone. I don’t think AI will replace writing entirely, but it might make writing skills less valued in the future.

Speaking, on the other hand, is less likely to be replaced by AI. When it comes to making money from speaking, it’s not like other skills. You don’t really sell speaking, except if you’re a voice actor or ASMR streamer. Most of the time, money from speaking is made indirectly. Think of the most successful people out there. One thing they all likely do is speak. A lot. Whether they like it or not.

Speaking is a great tool to influence and connect with others. It’s not the act of speaking itself that makes money but what it can make someone do. You can change the world with the right speech. To learn how to speak well, it’s all about practice. You have to yap a lot. The key to good speaking is not necessarily what you say but how you say it. With the right pitch, tone, and volume, you could be speaking absolute gibberish and still sound important.

High-Income Skill 5: Content Creation 🎥

Content creation is the language of the internet. If you can speak it, there’s a lot that you can gain from it. You may have already heard how much money influencers can make. A lot. But even if you don’t want to be an influencer, it’s still worth learning content creation.

The creator economy is currently valued at $250 billion and is expected to reach $480 billion by 2028. While a bunch of that money is going to influencers, a bunch of that money is also going to those who support influencers, their teams. Having content creation skills will allow you to offer these services and get a piece of the pie in the creator economy without being an influencer yourself.

Content creation skills are also super helpful outside the creator economy. You can offer the same services to businesses for their marketing, website, products, or training. If you’re an entrepreneur, content creation can literally make your business. You can transform your brand and bring in customers.

All the resources you need to learn content creation can be found on Google and YouTube. I never went to any school to learn how to make videos or write scripts or use Photoshop. With AI tools nowadays, it’s easier than ever to get started. AI isn’t replacing content creators; it’s making them better.

High-Income Skill 6: Management 🏢

Management is the process of organizing and coordinating people and resources to achieve a goal. In business, it involves planning, leading teams, making decisions, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. The management skill is really a set of skills, but it’s those skills used together that form management.

It’s a hard skill to master, one even AI has trouble with, but it’s probably why it pays well. The highest-paid role in most companies is typically the CEO, and their job is to manage the company. If you plan to be a CEO or executive, whether for your own company or someone else’s, management skills are essential to have.

We also can’t forget the managers under the top managers. Project managers, product managers, operations managers. These are all usually high-income jobs as well that you can get by having management skills. So, how do you learn management?

It’s a skill you can’t really acquire by reading a book. You need to get yourself into leadership positions. This might mean leading a project at work, running a school club, playing in a team sport, or being a gaming clan leader. No joke. That was my earliest experience learning how to manage people. Combat arms, baby.
